«It might be a strange idea, but me and my colleague Morten Hervang wanted to make the video for the love of music. I want to show that behind the police uniform, we are also people with normal interests» says Norwegian police officer Stig «Tonish» Tonsjø.

Tonsjø, a police superintendent, works with traffic police at Stovner police station in Oslo. On his time off duty, Tonsjø has a passion for music, as you can see in the video that he and his colleague recorded in a controlled environment in Oslo.

«We made the video on our spare time at Grefsenkollen in Oslo. I think it's fun to create something that makes people happy» he says.

«Positivity is important»

The past year, several important police issues have been debated in Norway, such as whether police officers should carry firearms or not, and the impending reorganization of the police force. For police man Tonsjø it is important to show the humans on duty:

«The video is perhaps a contribution to show that we are human beings. To create that positivity is important. Working as a police officer, that positivity is important to create good environment within the police district.»

Tonsjø, who happily plays music at home or for others outside his working hours, is not afraid of being exposed dancing on the Internet.

«But I have no plans to publish more videos like this» he says.
